Re-Elect Harmen Tjaarda to SRP’s Council

About Harmen Tjaarda

Harmen has lived in Scottsdale for more than 30 years, with his wife Sheri (a school teacher at Crockett Elementary), and raised three children Alexandria, Trae, and Jacob. He is a tradesman, and has been a small business owner in the valley. He has been a tireless advocate for homeowners and neighborhoods, as an SRP Council representative, in resolving utility issues and disputes.

He grew up in a large family where sports, and the outdoors, were a big part of their daily lives. He was a very successful football player, and baseball player. When the University of Oregon ended their baseball program in the 1980’s, he took up college rugby. His passion for rugby has continued on, evident in his work with the Scottsdale Rugby Club, promoting the sport with the formation of adult and youth teams.
